The death toll in Portugal increased to 687. 663 more infected people

The epidemiological bulletin of Direction-General health (DGS) was released and reports a slight increase in deaths, plus 30 in the past 24 hours. On the other hand, the number of new cases increased further: 663 people more infected with the new coronavirus, which compares with the 181 new cases that had been presented this Friday.

In total, Portugal represents 19,685 confirmed cases. 687 people have died since the outbreak began in the country.

One of the most relevant data on the situation this Saturday is the fact that the number of people who have already recovered from the disease is getting closer to the number of deaths.

In 24 hours, the recovered cases grew by almost 100 and reached 610.

The number of hospitalizations maintains the downward trend. Right now, 1,253 people are hospitalized due to the Covid-19, of which 228 are in intensive care units.

The northern region is still the most affected by the pandemic, with 11,762 cases of infection and 393 dead. Lisbon and the Tagus Valley follow with 4,438 people infected and 124 deaths, and then the Central region, which totals 2,863 infections and 157 deaths.

It should be remembered that the third period of the State of Emergency came into effect at 12:00 a.m. this Saturday and will continue until 2 May.
