The curve of new infections rises again after five days of decline

There are 3,384 more cases and 68 more deaths from covid-19 in the last 24 hours in Portugal, according to data from the situation report of the General Directorate of Health (DGS) this Wednesday (December 2).

These data point to the fact that the number of new cases has risen again, after five consecutive days in which the curve of new infections decreased. Compared to Wednesday of last week, there are 1906 fewer cases, a fact that may be the result of the containment measures adopted in this period.

It should be noted that since the start of the pandemic, Portugal has registered a total of 303,845 infections and 4,645 deaths caused by covid-19.

The data now released also shows that, in the last 24 hours, A further 2,569 patients were reported to have recovered.

Another 63 patients were admitted to Portuguese hospitals, for a total of 3,338 hospitalized. Compared to the previous day, there are four new admissions to intensive care units, which now have 525 patients.
