Starting at midnight, around seven million Portuguese will be subject to the toughest movement restrictions ever seen in a democracy. The state of emergency lasted for 15 days, beginning at 12:00 a.m. on November 9 and ending at 11:59 p.m. on November 23, 2020.

In the 121 counties with high risk of transmission of Covid-19 (see the list below), the mandatory curfew is enacted between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. on weekdays and the next two weekends starting in 1 pm.

In short, it is in the hands of the police, based on their extensive experience in recent months, to believe that if someone is on the street at curfew, it is for any of the reasons indicated as exceptions.

Otherwise, you will not pay a fine, but you will be taken home. If you disobey the situation, the situation worsens, as you may be subject to criminal prosecution for disobedience to the authorities.

Curfew exceptions

– Back home;
