The contingency plan of the Festa do Avante (almost) became the chemical paper of the DGS recommendations. An Avante “sanitized” according to the rules …

The DGS did not mention it, but the PCP makes it clear: everyone who attends the Festa do Avante Health Center, for whatever reason, will have their temperature checked and, if it exceeds 38ºC, “they will be sent to the place of isolation ”.

If a suspected case of Covid-19 is detected, according to the signs and symptoms provided by the DGS rules, the participant must be “accompanied to an isolation area attached to the Health Post by a nurse”, both “protected with a mask ”. According to the PCP, the “route will be as short as possible avoiding going through places with a greater concentration of people and contact with objects and surfaces” and if it is about “visitors suspected of the Covid-19 case, they will have their own route.”

In the isolation room there will be “a equipment with water and some non-perishable food, alcohol-based soap, paper towels, surgical masks and access to sanitary facilities for exclusive use ”.

In addition to the standards already expected, which are in force for all catering in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area, where the Festa do Avante is held, the PCP had to request a redoubled effort at the usual food points, which are also guaranteed by the different regional delegations of the party.

This year there will be 77 spaces for restoration and one terrace area of about 20 thousand square meters that allows 2,500 people simultaneously with the right distance to eat. This year only the option “to carry out“, No counter consumption. On Fridays and Saturdays the restaurants close at midnight and on Sundays at 10 pm.

The PCP also establishes that all areas of common use and frequent contact (taps, sinks, countertops, among others) “will be cleaned and disinfected at least six times a day, using appropriate products”, with tables and chairs in the restaurant areas. “They will be disinfected after each use, by an organizing team” that will be equipped with “a waterproof coat or apron, a disposable mask and disinfectant resistant gloves”.

The truth is that in addition to the teams of volunteers that set up the Festival every year and that during the course of the event they ensure that it takes place this year, reinforcements must be added to ensure that all areas that need frequent cleaning and hygiene (dining rooms , bathrooms, seats in the audience, for example) receive it to prevent any outbreak or source of contagion in Covid-19 at the Festa do Avante.
