One person died and five were injured as a result of a traffic accident that occurred at kilometer 61 of the A1, in the parish of Póvoa da Isenta, between Santarém and Cartaxo, near the intersection near the latter city.
According to the Regional Network, the accident involved the collision between five vehicles. The alert was given at 6:45 pm and 30 operational personnel, supported by 11 vehicles, were dispatched to the scene.
The victim will be a young woman in her 20s.
Among the five injured, one is considered serious and two (mother and son of about 10 years) were examined as minor. These three victims were transferred to the Santarém District Hospital (HDS).
Two other people suffered minor injuries and refused to be taken to hospital.
Thirty operational personnel from the Sapadores and Santarém firefighters, volunteers from Pernes and Torrejanos and the HDS Vehicle for Resuscitation and Medical Emergencies (VMER) HDS were sent to the site, supported by 11 vehicles.
The A1 cuts off in a North – South direction.
