The Matosinhos-Leça da Palmeira City Council asked the APDL for explanations on Tuesday about the damage to the mobile bridge of the port of Leixões, which prohibits access to cars and pedestrians, and defended the need to build a “third crossing”.

The mayor safeguards that, after the letter addressed to the Administration of the Duero, Leixões and Viana do Castelo Ports, APDL, “the president of the board of directors, Nuno Araújo, has already taken care to respond immediately and inform that it will be a situation unexpected and all contingency procedures have already been activated. “

By the way, it is recalled that “during the last ten years, the Board and Parish Assembly have debated and defended, on several occasions, the need to build a ‘third crossing’ (in addition to the mobile bridge and the large bridge of the A28) and the respective widening of the A28 between Matosinhos and the roundabout of the AEP, in order to free the city center from the excess of vehicles that, daily, cross it towards municipalities located in the South or North ”.
