After two straight draws (RB Leipzig and Stuttgart, both 1-1), Eintracht Frankfurt returned to winning ways in the Bundesliga.
This Saturday, Adi Hutter’s team received and beat Union Berlin 5-2, in a match marked by another great display from André Silva. The Portuguese forward opened the scoring after two minutes and made it 4-1 in 41 ‘, assisting Filip Kostic in 3-1 in 39’. In a really frantic first half, Andrich’s own goal (35 ‘) gave Frankfurt the lead again in 35’, after Max Kruse made it 1-1 in 7 ‘. Kruse himself made it 2-4 when he fell from the net in the first half and Timothy Chandler, in 90 + 2 ‘, closed the result with a handful of goals from Frankfurt.
With these two goals, André Silva has 21 in the Bundesliga and remains even with Erling Haaland in the second place of the best scorers behind Robert Lewandowski (35).
Ahead of Borussia Dortmund’s draw in Cologne, Eintracht Frankfurt now have a four-point lead (47 to 43) in the final Champions League spot.
