THE BALL – «The culmination of a series of tricks that harm Benfica» (Benfica)

João Noronha Lopes opposes the electoral act of Benfica’s governing bodies from October 30 to 28, due to the resolution of the Council of Ministers that prevents the movement of people between municipalities between October 30 and November 3. Through Facebook, the candidate points a finger at the General Assembly Table.

Fully disclosed:

«The day that the use of a mask became mandatory in the country, the mask fell on the General Assembly Table.

We came to a meeting to discuss the election calendar and propose that it be held on November 7, under the right conditions. We proposed the postponement because it would ensure that more people were able to vote, with the least possible risk to public health.

We discovered that the decision had already been made.

Anticipation of this choice does not minimize the risk to public health.

The anticipation of this election ignores the deputies when creating the conditions for a less participatory electoral act.

Finally, the anticipation of this election calls into question the safeguarding of vote security.

During the last months, we have requested meetings of the President of the Assembly and have not received a response.

We were denied access to the electoral roll.

We saw the increase in polling stations announced by Luís Filipe Vieira, who inexplicably replaced the president of the MAG.

They promised us that each of the candidates could certify the reliability of the electronic vote and monitor the electoral act, and nothing guarantees this at the moment.

Today was nothing more than the culmination of a series of tricks that hurt Benfica and the Benfica fans.

It was against this that I decided to run. It is for Benfica that I vote.

On October 28, 2000 we saved Benfica de Vale e Azevedo. 20 years later, we will fill polling stations across the country to say once again that the time has come for change.

Victory will come sooner. The glory is now! »
