Roma, coached by Paulo Fonseca, beat Crotone 3-1 away from home and took advantage of Inter Milan’s defeat against Sampdoria to close the gap to second place in Serie A.
Mayoral (2) and Mkhitaryan scored the goals of the Roman team, Golemic reduced Crotone who had Pedro Pereira on the field in the first half.
With this result, Paulo Fonseca places the Romans just three points behind Inter, who beat Sampdoria (1-2). Adrien Silva started in Claudio Ranieri’s team, victorious thanks to goals from Candevra (penalty) and Balde Keita.
Alexis Sánchez missed a penalty for Inter that he only managed to reduce through Stefan de Vrij.
The defeat of Inter could also benefit AC Milan, which in case of triumph over Juventus will have a stronger leadership.
