“The balconies are doing something that a lot of people don’t value”
Rúben Micael, Nacional’s midfielder, was a colleague of Rúben Amorim and, commenting on Sporting’s performance, he ended up praising the president of the lions, Frederico Varandas.
“Some athletes may be upset with the president of the club, with Varandas. But anyone who knows football knows something. Be careful with Sporting in the next few years ”, the experienced player warned, in an interview with Maisfutebol.
In Rúben Micael’s opinion, Sporting’s current leadership is due not only to the work of the coach, Rúben Amorim, but also that of the president.
“Varandas is doing something that a lot of people don’t value. He restructured the club, he is creating a very competent team at the level of doctors, of the entire squad and now he is reaching the field ”, he explained.
The Nacional midfielder recalled that Sporting even started the season badly, with the elimination of the Europa League.
“When Sporting had that less positive situation in the Europa League, people thought it would be a disaster. And I immediately said no. Sporting will have a good championship, I don’t know if they can be champions, ”he said.
Challenged to analyze the championship, Lúben Micael considered that the lions are being the “surprise” of the season.
“I am sure that Rúben Amorim will triumph. Sporting built this squad according to its needs and the possibilities it has. For the way he puts the team at stake, which is an incredible thing, we must congratulate Rúben ”, concluded the nationalist captain.
