“We will continue with the heat that has been registered in recent days, with wind from the east quadrant, little or no cloudiness and, in terms of temperatures, we will have temperatures above 30 degrees in most of the territory, with values between 35 and 40 degrees in many parts of the interior, ”he said.

According to the IPMA forecast, Alentejo and the Ribatejo region will have the highest temperatures, with a maximum temperature of 34 degrees for Lisbon and Porto, with Faro, “a little cooler”, reaching 28 degrees.

“This hot situation will continue for the next few days, at least until Tuesday,” said Ângela Lourenço.

At present, Portugal has 13 districts north of the Tagus and Portalegre in a state of alert due to the forecast of increase in temperature and wind, and reduction of relative humidity.

The four remaining districts of the continent, Setúbal, Évora, Beja and Faro, are in a special state of yellow alert.

In this context, Civil Protection expects a “gradual increase in the risk of fire, especially in the North and Center regions”, and a “greater difficulty in putting down rural fires.”
