TAP’s restructuring plan foresees an average reduction of 25% in salaries above 900 euros per month, as reported this Wednesday by Jornal Economico from a parliamentary source.

The salary cuts will be applied only to the section above that amount, added the source, explaining that in a salary of 1,300 euros, for example, the 25% cut would apply only to the differential of 400 euros, which translates into a discount of 100 euros.

The government met in an extraordinary Council of Ministers on Tuesday night to consider the restructuring plan for TAP, which will be delivered in Brussels until Thursday. Before that, the Minister of Infrastructure is presenting the plan to the different parliamentary groups, in meetings that are held behind closed doors.

After delivery to the European Commission, the government must make a public presentation of the restructuring plan.

The restructuring plan provides for the dismissal of 500 pilots, 750 cabin crew and 750 ground workers, a 25% reduction in the group’s payroll and the number of aircraft that make up the company’s fleet, said the unions that represent them. .

As Jornal Economico has learned from parliamentary sources, the reduction in personnel costs will be 1,400 million euros in 2025, including some 80 million per year related to the charges provided for in the company agreements, which will be suspended.
