StayAway Covid: the application registers seven infections and 18 notifications in three days

In just three days, seven users used the StayAway Covid app to enter contagion confirmation codes for covid-19. As expected, the seven codes provided by accredited doctors triggered notifications for other mobile phones that installed the application for tracking contacts with infected people. And according to the Shared Services of the Ministry of Health (SPMS), these notifications originated at least 18 calls to the SNS24 telephone line. To this number is added a call number 19 that originated from an application, but not from the application that the Government makes available to the population to send notifications to people close to others who assumed they were infected.

“There is at least one person who has contacted the SNS24 line by using a Spanish application called Stayaway and that is limited to measuring distances between people”, explains Luís Goes Pinheiro, president of SPMS.
