Android and iOS users can now install Stay Away Covid. The Portuguese application to help stop the covid-19 arrived this Friday at the Google and Apple application store.
The official launch of StayAway Covid, which has been announced for five months, is scheduled for early next week, in Porto, in a session with Prime Minister António Costa.
It took me five months to get here. The application has been developed since March by the Institute of Engineering, Science and Technology of Computer Systems (INESC TEC), in association with the Institute of Public Health of the University of Porto and the companies Keyruptive and Ubirider, within the scope of the Initiative . The application is free to use and you do not need to share personal data or contacts to test it. You must have the mobile phone system in Portuguese (definitions> language) to consult the application in Portuguese. Otherwise, the application, developed with the application programming interface (API) of Google and Apple, appears with the texts translated into the language of the mobile phone.
The key idea is that people who use a mobile phone with the application installed can activate the sending of an anonymous alert to mobile devices with which they have been in close contact (less than two meters and more than 15 minutes) in the last two weeks if they are diagnosed with covid-19 by a doctor.
