Frederico Varandas, president of Sporting, informed the club’s workers this Wednesday that they were going to enter a layoff regime.
In the measures defined by Sporting, there are three different ‘levels’. Some work full time, others part time and the rest say goodbye, Registry.

86 percent of employees go to layoffs. Of that number, 60 percent request suspension and 26 percent to reduce work hours. 14 percent work full time.
On the other hand, Sporting guarantees to all service providers and on their own account, that they are not protected by law, the value of dismissal and maintenance of jobs.
These measures must be in force for a period of 30 days, being reevaluated at the end of it.
Sporting considered that this decision is essential to guarantee the sustainability of the club and the maintenance of the jobs.
