The president of the European Commission, Ursula von de Leyen, will be in isolation until Tuesday morning, after having been in contact with an infected person last week at the meeting of the Council of State in Cascais, Lisbon.

“They informed me that I participated in a meeting last Tuesday, where there was a person who yesterday [no domingo] tested positive for covid-19. According to the adopted regulation, I will be in self-isolation until tomorrow. [terça-feira] in the morning”wrote the leader of the community executive in her account on the social network Twitter.

Ursula von der Leyen did a test on Thursday, with a negative result, and today she will do another.

On Sunday night the Presidency of the Republic was informed that the State Councilor António Lobo Xavier is infected with the virus causing covid-19.

WHOEVER WAS TESTED HAD A NEGATIVE RESULT

All the personalities that were part of the meeting and that have already been tested and had a negative result, among which the Republic President, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, the Prime Minister, António Costa, the President of the Assembly of the Republic, Ferro Rodrigues, and also Jorge Sampaio and Aníbal Cavaco Silva.

The tests were carried out by the Champalimaud Foundation.
