Ihor Homeniuk’s death is pointed out to SEF inspectors in a message exchange between airport security officials. SIC had access to the conversation in which part of the violence against Ukraine is reported.

Jorge: “Guys, we had a death at CIT. A Ukrainian. Myocardial infarction.”

The warning of what happened was given by an airport security guard, in a WhatsApp group. It reaches dozens of other guards two hours after Ihor’s death..

The exchange of messages is carried out by a series of employees, all from the same private company responsible for the security of the Temporary Installation Center at Lisbon airport.

Carlos: “The boy also had epilepsy. The bastard who refused to board.

Mihaela: “When these situations of” talking “with passengers arise and if there is an exaggeration, inform someone responsible. Orders from our dear superiors. ”

For about an hour, security guards report some of the violence on the victim not to mention names. They point out responsibilities to SEF inspectors.

Paula: “It wasn’t our fault. Goodness. Let it be the fault of others. “

Rita: “They killed the guy.”

Paula: “They are to blame for death.”

Cátia: “Now that they take off their boots from everything they did.”

The messages to which the SIC had access are some of the evidence collected by the Judicial Police. According to prosecutors, the security guards reporting to the SEF at the airport will have warned inspectors of Ihor’s agitated behavior after he refused to board for Turkey.

Later they will have returned to alert the SEF, again of the agitated behavior of the victim, when the man was already in an isolated room.

The Public Ministry says that moments later, without authorization or competence, two guards handcuffed him with duct tape around his ankles and arms before the SEF inspectors are called back.

Upon arrival, the three defendants will have asked one of the security guards not to record the names. The assaults will have happened later, behind closed doors.

None of the security guards were charged by the prosecutor. They are now on the list of 36 witnesses called to trial.
