The ban on driving between municipalities ended in the early hours of Monday, but the curfew remains in the municipalities with the highest risk of transmission of covid-19. More than 200 municipalities with extreme, very high and high risk of contagion are subject to curfews.

In these cases, circulation on public roads is prohibited between 11 pm and 5 am during the week. Over the weekend, the curfew in these municipalities has been taking place starting at 1:00 p.m., but since the current state of emergency ends on Thursday, it is necessary to renew it so that the restrictive measures remain in force.

Madeira has already announced that from Tuesday it will also apply a curfew between 23:00 and 05:00.

Highest Risk Counties

According to the current list of municipalities by risk levels, there are 30 municipalities at extreme risk of contagion, 79 at very high risk, 92 at high risk and 77 at moderate risk.

Composed of 18 municipalities, the Lisbon Metropolitan Area has five very high-level municipalities: Almada, Barreiro, Lisbon, Moita and Montijo.

In the Metropolitan Area of ​​Porto, there are four municipalities at the extreme risk level, namely Oliveira de Azeméis, Póvoa de Varzim, Trofa and Vila do Conde, and there are 12 at the very high level: Arouca, Espinho, Gondomar, Maia, Matosinhos, Paredes, Porto, Santa Maria da Feira, Santo Tirso, São João da Madeira, Valongo and Vila Nova de Gaia.

Marcelo wants to renew the state of emergency for eight days
