The General Directorate of Health (DGS) announced in the daily bulletin this Sunday that there are 48 more deaths and 5,784 new cases of Covid-19 in Portugal. In total, the country has 2,896 deaths and 179,324 infected by the new coronavirus.

In the last 24 hours, there are 12 more patients admitted to the Intensive Care Units, totaling 378.

As for hospital admissions, 2,522 people are hospitalized, 102 more than on Saturday.

DGS reveals that 76,647 contagion cases are active, 3,702 more than on Saturday. Also in the last 24 hours, 2,034 people were recovered, a total of 99,781 since the start of the pandemic.

Health officials now have 90,506 people under surveillance, 844 fewer than in the last 24 hours.

Mandatory night shift during the week

The Government decreed a curfew between 11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. on working days, from Monday to November 23, in the 121 municipalities most affected by pandemicannounced the Prime Minister on Sunday.

The executive also determined that, on the weekend, the curfew begins at 1:00 p.m. in the same 121 municipalities.

The head of government acknowledged that it is “the most restrictive measure of freedoms contemplated” in the state of emergency that begins on Monday.

Limited circulation in the afternoons and nights of the next weekends

Circulation will be limited for the next two weekends between 1:00 p.m. on Saturday and 5:00 a.m. on Sunday and 1:00 p.m. on Sunday and 5:00 a.m. on Monday in the 121 counties with the highest risk of contagion.

As announced by the Prime Minister, António Costa, at the end of an extraordinary Council of Ministers to take measures within the framework of the state of emergency decreed by the covid-19 pandemic, “there will be freedom of movement on Saturday and Sunday mornings.”

HIGH RISK TIPS

There are 121 municipalities in mainland Portugal that have been in partial confinement since last week, following the criterion of having “more than 240 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days” or due to the proximity to another municipality in this situation.

The list of municipalities will be updated every 15 days. The next review will take place on Thursday.
