Portugal registered in the last 24 hours more 3,262 cases of contagion and 78 more deaths associated with the covid-19 disease, according to the bulletin of the General Directorate of Health (DGS) this Monday.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 4,505 people have died in Portugal, of the 298,061 confirmed cases of infection.

There are less than 11 patients hospitalized in the Intensive Care Units, totaling 525. In relation to hospital admissions to the ward, there are more than 97 people hospitalized, now totaling 3,342.

DGS reveals that there are 224 fewer active infection cases compared to Sunday, for a total of 80,614. An additional 3,408 patients were recovered, 212,942 since the start of the pandemic.

Health authorities now have 81,477 people under surveillance, plus 1,189.

With respect to 3,262 new cases, the lowest number of new cases since November 3, 1,795 are registered in the North region, 839 in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, 407 in the Center region, 148 in Alentejo, 34 in the Algarve , 32 in the Azores and 7 in Madeira.

Of the 78 deaths from crying in the last 24 hours, 42 occurred in the North, 28 in Lisbon and the Tagus Valley, 6 in the Center and two in Alentejo.

Confirmed cases are distributed in all age groups, with the highest number of infections between 20 and 59 years.

Of the total number of fatalities, 2,344 were men and 2,161 women.
