Hospitalizations are on the rise, which is putting pressure on the country’s main hospitals. The Beatriz Ângelo Hospital, in Loures, was forced to transfer two patients to the Armed Forces Hospital this Saturday.

Amadora-Sintra also suspended new admissions to the pulmonology department after detecting five cases of covid-19 among the patients.

The DGS indicates that, of the 13 deaths registered in the last 24 hours, six occurred in the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo region, six in the North region (this area leads the table in number of new cases) and one in the Alentejo .

Regarding hospitalizations, the bulletin reveals that 843 people are hospitalized (12 more than in the last 24 hours), of which 124 are in intensive care (two more compared to Saturday).

The number of people recovered amounted to 53,187 (384 more than in the last 24 hours).

This Sunday, Portugal counts another 13 deaths related to covid-19 and 1,090 new cases of infection by the new coronavirus, according to the epidemiological bulletin of the General Directorate of Health (DGS).

Since the start of the pandemic, Portugal has registered 2,080 deaths and 86,664 cases of infection, with 31,397 active cases, 693 more than on Saturday.
