The Director General of Health recalled that the new coronavirus is very active in Portugal and, therefore, calls on families to fraternize less.

12 more deaths and 1,394 cases of Covid-19 in Portugal in the last 24 hours

The General Directorate of Health (DGS) announced in the daily bulletin this Friday that there are a total of 2,062 deaths and 83,928 cases of covid-19 in Portugal since the beginning of the pandemic.

The number of deaths increased from 2,050 to 2,062, 12 more than Thursday: 8 in the Lisbon region and the Tagus Valley, 3 in the North region, 1 in the Center.

The number of infected people increased from 82,534 to 83,928, more than 1,394. This is the second highest number of cases of infection. The highest was on April 10, with 1,516.

In the past 24 hours, another 647 patients were reported to have recovered. Since the start of the pandemic in Portugal in March, 52,164 people have recovered from the disease.

Regarding hospitalizations, there are 10 more patients, totaling 811. In intensive care there are 10 more patients, out of a total of 125.

Health authorities have 47,721 contacts under surveillance, an additional 1,539 compared to Thursday.
