The government decreed a curfew between 1:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. in the riskiest counties in Portugal for the next two weekends (November 14 and 15 and November 21 and 22). Despite the obligation to collect the curfew from 1:00 p.m., there are ten exceptions provided by law, and these establishments may close later. Namely:

  • Establishment establishments retail sale of food products, as well as natural or dietary, sanitary and hygienic, that have a sales area or provision of services equal to or less than 200 square meters with autonomous and independent entrance from the public highway

  • Establishments that provide freight vehicle rental services without driver (cargo rental) and rental of passenger vehicles without a driver (rent a car);
  • Establishments that offer accommodation

On Thursday, following the Council of Ministers, the Prime Minister said that the driving ban from 1:00 p.m. on the next two weekends is aimed at trying to curb the growth of new cases that are emerging mainly in social life and family. .
