The Parisian authorities have already confirmed that this Friday morning, four people were injured with knives in Paris, next to the building of the former writing of the satirical newspaper. Charlie hebdo. According to BFMTV, a suspicious package was also found and authorities are asking people to avoid the area.

Two of the wounded are in a state of “absolute emergency” and the two alleged perpetrators of the attack are “on the run,” the city added.

So far, the circumstances of the incident are unknown. According to the French press, two suspects have fled, but have since been detained. The first man was arrested near the Place de la Bastille and a second suspect was reportedly arrested shortly after.

The Premières Lignes news agency, which operates in the building, confirmed to Radio France 2 that two of its workers, “a man and a woman,” were injured in the attack, which took place on the street.

A police officer said an “active search” for the suspects was underway and a police cordon was set up in the area, including the old newsroom building, after a suspicious package was found.

French Prime Minister Jean Castex also confirmed the attack and announced that he would immediately meet with the Interior Minister to monitor the situation.

There is also information that “thousands of students have been confined” as a precautionary measure and that schools, day care centers and nursing homes in the area have been closed.

It is recalled that the old newspaper office, in the eastern part of Paris, was the scene, on January 7, 2015, of a ‘jihadist’ attack that left 12 dead and five seriously injured. The trial of the alleged accomplices of this and other ‘jihadist’ attacks in Paris has been ongoing since the beginning of September in the French capital.

Charlie Hebdo moved its facilities after the 2015 attack.
