The number of deaths among users of Santa Casa da Misericórdia in Bragança increased from 11 to 18. The seven fatalities registered this Monday are five men and two women, with an average age of around 90 years. “All people with age-related illnesses,” said a board source.

The Administrative Office of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia confirmed this Monday that in recent days there have been another seven deaths. As far as JN is concerned, only three users died on Sunday and another died on Monday morning. Last week 11 elderly people had died, all institutionalized in homes.

There is no record of new positive cases of covid-19, neither in users nor in employees. Four employees have already recovered. During this week a new cycle of tests will be carried out on all users of the three Mercy homes. Four male users are receiving hospital care.

The institution continues to count on the permanent support of the team from the Northeast Local Health Unit, made up of two doctors and three nurses.
