The second phase of national flu vaccination campaign ends next Friday, 8. It began on April 16, the stage focuses on members of the security and rescue forces, people with chronic diseases or special clinical conditions, young people from 12 to 21 years under socio-educational measures, population deprived of liberty and prison staff.

In addition to the aforementioned groups, immunization of this phase extends to indigenous peoples, truckers, drivers and collectors of public transport and dock workers. Anyone who is included in any of these segments must look for one of the 42,000 health centers spread across the country to get vaccinated.

In São Paulo state, pharmacy units and private pharmacies also carry out influenza immunizations. It is worth noting that the vaccine is not effective against new coronavirus, which has already infected more than 100,000 people in Brazil, about 30,000 in São Paulo.

The first phase of the campaign, which lasted from March 23 to April 15, had older adults and health professionals as priority groups. According to Ministry of Health, 18.9 million older people (90.6%) had been vaccinated before April 13. For the current stage, the expectation is 15.6 million people immunized.

The third and last stage begins next Saturday 9 and will last until May 22. It will be aimed at people with disabilities, teachers, children from 6 months to 6 years, pregnant women, mothers in the postpartum period of up to 45 days and people from 55 to 59 years.

To receive the vaccine, the person needs to present an identification document and preferably the vaccination card and card THEIR. For professionals in priority areas, it is also necessary to bring a pay stub or ID. People with chronic illnesses, on the other hand, must carry a prescription or prescription made in the last six months.
