On Friday, the GNR Leiria Territorial Command said it would continue its search overnight to find the missing boy.

“We will continue overnight with ‘drones’ and territorial patrols,” the same source told the Lusa agency.

In addition to these teams, the kineotechnical pairs (dogs) were integrated in the daytime searches, but they demobilized at night.

So far, “there has been no evidence” of the boy’s whereabouts, the same source said.

Searches are being carried out in the parish of Atouguia da Baleia, where the girl’s family resides, “because there was no capacity” to expand them.

At 9:40 pm Friday, 73 operating personnel and 23 vehicles participated in the operation, according to the website of the National Civil Protection Authority.

The same source explained that the boy disappeared from his home at 8:30 am on Thursday.

The Judicial Police (PJ) is investigating the case and, according to a PJ source, as early as 2018 the boy had disappeared from another house where the family lived in the municipality, and was later found by the police forces.
