Schools closed, Citizen Shops by appointment and courts ...

António Costa has just confirmed what was already planned! Schools will close, starting this Friday, in the next 15 days. The decision was revealed after a meeting of the Council of Ministers.

According to António Costa ..

Yesterday we received data on the prevalence of the new strain, known as the British strain. There has been a high presence since last week, increasing from 8 to 20 percent in prevalence. Studies indicate growth that can reach 60 percent. Given this reality, it is necessary to change the measures adopted last week

Despite all the extra effort of the schools to operate in person, given this new strain and the speed of transmission, we have to proceed with the interruption of all teaching activities for the next 15 days, which will be compensated in the school calendar, with extension in period dedicated to the holidays. As before, there is support for families with children under the age of 12 - excused absences and support identical to that given in the first phase of the confinement.

We hope that this interruption will be short-lived and will be compensated for in the school calendar. [Parar 15 dias] It gives you time to measure the evolution of this situation.

The Prime Minister also reinforces that schools are not the source of contagion, but it is necessary to stop the movement of people.
