“When we have birds in a cage and we open the door, not all of them leave. This is what happens to women: they have been so oppressed all their lives that the door opens and they cannot get out,” says the plus model size. alluding to the messages they have received and whose content says things like “you were really asking for them”.
There is a message that marked her more. And Sara does not hide it from us in her voice: “There was a man who sent me a kind of poem, saying things like ‘women have to be trampled on to mature’ or they have to be ‘killed with so much love’“reports.” This is a reflection of our society. In college, the comments continued: “I have always had to deal with these kinds of situations. With a high neck or cleavage, I will always have a chest and that attracts attention.” And not infrequently they came from his colleagues: “There was a colleague who constantly raised my shirt. And they commented on his photographs, sometimes in front of the mirror, sometimes half-naked.” They told me, ‘If I did with that. my father died of shame, ‘”he recalls.” I never had a problem with my body. Despite growing up hearing these kinds of comments, Sara did not let herself down. Because she is so photogenic, she began working as a model about ten years ago, although she was never admitted as a mannequin again because of her chest size. “I had few jobs. But in the last year, the flow has increased: there was a large size boom in Portugal a year ago and I started to have more jobs.”
