In accordance with the Government decree that regulates the application of the new state of emergency due to the covid-19 pandemic that comes into effect at midnight on Wednesday, three exceptions are established to the mandatory closure of businesses at 1:00 p.m. weekends November 28 and 29 and December 5 and 6, as well as public holidays December 1 and 8.

The same exceptions apply to the mandatory closing time at 3:00 p.m. on the eve of the holidays, that is, on November 30 and December 7.

Thus, according to the diploma, published in the Diário da República on Saturday, catering establishments or similar establishments can operate outside the period between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on weekends and holidays and outside the period between 8:00 a.m. and at 3 pm on the eve of holidays “provided, exclusively, for home delivery or for the supply of goods at the door of the establishment or at the window (‘take-way’), in which case the access to the interior of the establishment by the public “.

This weekend, as in the previous one, when the business was already forced to close at 1 in the afternoon in the counties with the highest risk of contagion by the new coronavirus, restaurants could only operate after that time for deliveries to home.

In addition to this exception, the two already provided for in the previous decree that regulate the state of exception currently in force are maintained.

Thus, “retail food establishments, as well as natural or dietary products, health and hygiene, which have access to health services, may be open after 1:00 pm on weekends and holidays and after from 3:00 pm on the eve of holidays “. an area of ​​sale or provision of services equal to or less than 200 square meters with autonomous and independent entrance from the public highway ”.

Service stations may also be open, but “exclusively for the purpose of selling fuel and supplying vehicles to the public.”

These restrictions on the operation of commercial establishments will be in effect for 127 counties (80 considered “very high” risk of contagion and 47 of “extremely high risk”).

On the next two weekends and holidays on December 1 and 8, these 127 counties will also maintain a curfew between 1 pm and 5 am.

“Extremely high” risk counties are considered to be those that had more than 960 new coronavirus infections per 100,000 residents in the past 14 days.

In the regions considered “very high” risk, more than 480 new infections were registered for every 100 thousand inhabitants.

In these counties, as in the 86 counties considered “high” risk (with more than 240 cases per 100,000 inhabitants), the curfew is maintained between 11 pm and 5 am, seven days a week.

Throughout the continental territory, it will be prohibited to circulate between municipalities between 11:00 p.m. on November 27 and 5:00 a.m. on December 2 and between 11:00 p.m. on December 4 and 11:59 p.m. on December 8.
