Renault sold the 1,500,000 car in Portugal: guess what the model was?

Portugal has the largest market share for the brand in Western Europe, just behind France

Present in Portugal for four decades and with 77 ranges sold, Renault has reached the threshold of 1,500,000 cars sold in the country.

A milestone in the history of Renault in Portugal that was achieved with a model of the new Zoe sold to the Beja district, according to the company.

The number of sales now recorded is indicative of Renault’s success in Portugal, the country with the brand’s largest market share in Western Europe, just behind France.

In 40 years of history, the model that most contributed to the sales of the French brand in Portugal was the Renault Clio, which for 11 years was the preferred car of the Portuguese, that is, in the last seven.

According to the data now revealed, another of the models that helped to consolidate the success of the brand was the popular Renault 5, since between 1980 and 1991 174,255 units of this car were sold.

The Renault 19 was another of the Portuguese’s favorite vehicles as it sold 77,165 units between 1988 and 1996, which corresponds to fifth place in the “ranking” of the best-selling models of the Renault Group in the country.

Out of curiosity, the Renault Zoe occupies half of the sales table, with 3,403 sold since 2013.

At the bottom of Renault’s sales list in Portugal is the Renault Fuego coupe, which sold just one unit in 1983.
