The Lille midfielder suffers a muscle injury.

Midfielder Renato Sanches was discharged this Saturday from the Portuguese soccer team, absent from the meetings with France and Croatia, due to “muscle injury”, announced the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) on its official website.

“Renato Sanches was, after undergoing examinations and clinical evaluation, considered unavailable by the FPF Health and Performance Unit for meetings with France and Croatia. The player was thus fired,” announced the FPF.

The Lille player thus misses the clashes with France, scheduled for today at 7:45 p.m. at the Estádio da Luz, and on Tuesday with Croatia, in Split, of the last days of Group 3 of League A of the League of Las Nations.

In relation to Wednesday’s match with Andorra, which Portugal beat 7-0, also in Luz, central defender Domingos Duarte also left the list of 23 chosen, including left defender Raphaël Guerreiro and midfielder Rúben Neves.

In the French team, the big casualty is striker Kylian Mbappé, who was in doubt due to physical problems and did not enter the list of 23 French people chosen by Didier Deschamps, announced by UEFA.

Mbappé had already missed Wednesday’s game with Finland at the Stade de France in Saint Denis, where the Gauls lost 2-0.

The match between Portugal and France, from the fifth day of Group 3 of League A of the Nations League, will take place this Saturday, starting at 7:45 p.m., at Estádio da Luz, in Lisbon, with the referee of the German Tobias Stieler.

The winner of the match guarantees a spot in the semi-finals, while equality postpones the decision to the sixth and final round, on Tuesday, with Portugal playing Croatia and France hosting Sweden.
