Region with four new positive cases and three recoveries in São Miguel

Of the diagnosed cases, three correspond to female individuals, between 21 and 51 years old, residents of the Region, close contacts of high risk of a previously identified case, who obtained positive results in the tests carried out in the field of the investigation epidemiological and remain in prophylactic isolation since their identification as close contact.

The other case refers to a 53-year-old man, resident in the Region, coming from an air connection with the Portuguese peninsula, whose detection test carried out on arrival gave a negative result and the test carried out from the sixth day gave a positive result . .

A 32-year-old woman and two 30- and 37-year-old men recovered, bringing the number of cases recovered in the Region to 215.

The Regional Health Authority also declares that fulfilling the recovery criteria in force in the continental territory of Portugal, a 44-year-old man left São Miguel.

So far, 336 cases of infection by the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, which causes the Covid-19 disease, have been detected in the Region, with 61 currently active positive cases, of which 33 on the island of São Miguel, 12 on the island Third, three on the island of Graciosa, four on the island of Pico, five on the island of Faial, one on the island of São Jorge, two on the island of Santa María and one on the island of Flowers.
