The other two cases diagnosed on the island of São Miguel refer to a male and another female, aged 37 and 32, respectively, who landed in the Region from an air connection with the mainland, having obtained a positive result in the SARS-CoV-2 virus detection performed on arrival.

The case of Terceira Island is related to a 46-year-old male individual, who landed in the Region from an air connection with the mainland, who tested negative for the SARS-CoV-2 virus performed prior to shipment and He was diagnosed with Covid-19 in the test after the sixth day.

The cases present a stable clinical situation and the procedures defined for the confirmed case, tests and surveillance of close contacts, as well as all those inherent to the deepening of the epidemiological investigation, have already been carried out by the Health Delegations of Concelhias.

Register a case of recovery on Terceira Island, of a 51-year-old male, thus increasing the number of recovered people in the Region to 175.

The Regional Health Authority also adds that in the context of the ongoing epidemiological investigation related to the case diagnosed in a school establishment on the island of São Miguel, all close contacts of high risk already identified were tested and the analyzes yielded a negative result. .

So far, 277 cases of infection by the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, which causes the Covid-19 disease, have been detected in the Region, and there are currently 55 active positive cases, of which 43 on the island of São Miguel , eight on the island.
