Real Madrid is preparing a new salary cut, which will force another reduction in the salary of the main team’s squad.
According to the newspaper “As”, the budget for the 2020/21 season, which should be approved this Sunday, foresees a loss of 91 million euros, as a result of the covid-19 pandemic.
After last season’s workforce agreed to a reduction of 10 percent, 45 million euros, negotiations for a new salary cut are only just beginning.
“A salary reduction action is planned to mitigate the impact of the loss of income”, can be read in the economic report of the merengue emblem.
The income of the club chaired by Florentino Pérez fell 25 percent in two years, however, seeing expenses rise: the wage bill went from 411 million to 448 million euros. Therefore, a new intervention is practically mandatory.
