Six districts of mainland Portugal are under yellow warning this Wednesday due to the forecast for rain, hail and thunderstorms, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA).

The districts of Santarém, Lisbon, Setúbal, Évora, Beja and Faro will be under yellow warning between 09:00 and 15:00 this Wednesday due to the forecast of periods of rain or downpours, sometimes heavy, with hail. and accompanied by thunderstorms and strong gusts.

IPMA issues a yellow warning when there is a risk situation for certain activities, depending on the weather situation.

The IPMA today foresees very cloudy skies on the continent, generally very cloudy until mid-morning and periods of rain or rains, which can sometimes be heavy, hail and accompanied by thunderstorms, especially in the south and during the afternoon.

The forecast also points to light to moderate wind from the southern quadrant, gradually turning towards the eastern quadrant in the northern and central regions from late afternoon, and being moderate to strong in the highlands.

There is also the possibility of fog or morning fog forming in some places and a small drop in maximum temperature.

The minimum temperatures will vary between 7 degrees Celsius (in Guarda) and 14 (in Faro) and the maximum between 12 (in Guarda) and 20 (in Braga and Aveiro).
