“The Metropolitan Command of the PSP of Lisbon, through the Police Division of Amadora, on November 8, after the news of meetings of numerous groups of people together and inside cafes with very loud music, made an incursion into the interior of the Cova da Moura neighborhood, with several police forces, in order to disperse the groups of people, close the cafes and put an end to the noise ”, reads a statement released today.

However, “the police were received hostile, with stones thrown and glass bottles”, so the PSP had to react.

“To deal with these current and illegal attacks, the use of a firearm, three shots of rubber berries, was absolutely necessary, however, as it did not result in physical or material damage,” the PSP described.

According to the police, the operation “had various police powers.”

After the shooting, the PSP managed to “disperse people, close the gates and put an end to the noise,” the statement read.
