PSP seized 1.5 kg of substance used to produce ‘bloom’

Within the framework of the regular operational activity carried out by the PSP Madeira Regional Command, the Funchal Police Division carried out a series of actions in the city of Funchal, with a major incision in the old town and in the “Quinta Josefina” Housing Neighborhood.

The actions resulted in the arrest of a 45-year-old male, born and resident in Funchal, for the crime of resistance and coercion of an employee, which resulted in the seizure of a knife.

In a statement, the PSP also reported that two house searches were carried out following court orders issued in the context of ongoing investigations at the Funchal Criminal Investigation Station for drug trafficking offenses;

A seizure of 1.5 kg of a criminalized substance called “mephedrone” was also used, among others, for the production of the narcotic commonly known as ‘Bloom’.

“The Madeira PSP Regional Command recommends to all citizens or victims that, whenever they have knowledge of suspicious situations or situations related to the practice of illegal activities, they get in touch, in the shortest time and by any means, with any PSP police station in order to trigger the police intervention in time and in favor of a better service to the community ”, concludes the same note.
