One of the recently diagnosed Covid-19 cases led the Externato de Presentation de Maria school to take some precautionary measures, which are included in its Contingency Plan, as it is a direct contact of two students from that school.
In coordination with the regional health authorities, as confirmed by DIÁRIO with the source of that school, the two classes, of different educational levels, 4th and 7th year, of which the two students were part, were discharged from activities. classes and sent home.
For now, this is not a positive case in that educational establishment, but two direct contacts of a positive case, as highlighted by the source contacted a few moments ago. The same source said that the two students are awaiting the result of the diagnostic test, and only after it becomes known, the school may or may not take further action.
At this time, a statement has already been sent to the educational community of the Maria Presentation Board, to clarify and reassure parents, tutors, students, teachers and other collaborators. In this letter, the school guarantees that “communication will remain fluid. The school will continue to implement the planned measures and the situation will be reassessed.”
The school is also recommended “to all elements of the school community, to be attentive to the appearance of symptoms compatible with Covid-19. If someone from the school community or its immediate surroundings develops symptoms suggestive of COVID-19, they should remain at address and contact the health services by phone (SRS24 Madeira – 800 24 24 20) ”, we can read in the message sent.
As the DIÁRIO has been reporting in recent days, these cases are associated with the increase in positive cases that the Region has come to know, some of them of local transmission, as was the situation that was seen yesterday in a school in Estreito de Câmara de Wolves.
