Portugal with more than 10,000 cases of covid-19 in one day

It is the highest number since the beginning of the pandemic. Portugal registered 10,027 new cases of covid-19 in 24 hours. There are still 91 more deaths, for a total of 7377 deaths.

The country registers a record number of infections in one day this Wednesday: plus 10,027 infected, a total of 446,606 since the start of the pandemic.

The North has the highest number of new infections, with an additional 3,857 in 24 hours. They are followed by Lisbon and the Tagus Valley with 3,333 more infected, the Center with 1,932, the Alentejo with 439, the Algarve with 307, the Azores with 107 and Madeira with 52 new cases.

The epidemiological bulletin issued by the General Directorate of Health 91 more deaths, in a total of 7377 deaths since the start of the pandemic. It is also the Northern region with the highest value, with 34 dead. Lisbon and the Tagus Valley have 27 more, the Alentejo 15 more, the Centro 14 more and the Algarve one more. Azores and Madeira did not register deaths in relation to Tuesday.

Most of the deaths occurred in the age group 80 years and older: there are 57 people (26 men and 31 women). Between 70-79 there are 23 deaths (18 men and five women), between 60-69 years ten patients died (five men and five women) and a man between 50-59 years old did not resist the covid-19 either.
