At a ceremony that took place virtually in Moscow, Russia, the best of the best in terms of destinations, hotels or airlines were unveiled.
Portugal won last year the award for the best destination in the world, to which it was also nominated this year. But it was the Maldives that in 2020 took home the trophy for the best destination in the world for the first time. Last month, Portugal had been voted the best destination in Europe.
Continuing in Portugal, Madeira was again distinguished as the best island destination in the world, Lisbon won the title of best city for rest in the city and the Algarve was voted the best beach destination in the world.
