Portugal sets a new daily record for deaths from Covid-19 – O Jornal Económico

Portugal has a total of 192,172 confirmed cases of Covid-19, 82 more than the previous day, reveals the epidemiological bulletin of the General Directorate of Health (DGS) published this Wednesday, November 11. The number of deaths from the new coronavirus in the country increased to 3,103, with another 82 deaths in the last 24 hours, this being a new daily record of deaths since the start of the pandemic.

The DGS reveals that there are currently 94,057 cases registered in the North (more 2,845), 17,759 in the Center (more 743), 71,936 in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (more 1,185), 3,638 in the Algarve (more 80), 513 cases in the Autonomous Region of Azores (21 more), 584 in the Autonomous Region of Madeira (17 more) and 3,685 cases in Alentejo (44 more).

There are currently 2,785 hospitalized patients (43 more), of which 391 are in Intensive Care Units (nine more) and 110,353 cases recovered in Portugal, 3,475 more than those registered yesterday.

Regarding deaths, of the total of 3,103 deaths, 1,414 are registered in the North (more than 44), 389 in the Center (more than 17), 1,181 in Lisbon and the Tagus Valley (more 19), 31 in the Algarve, 15 in the Azores and 71 in the Alentejo (two more). There are two deaths from Covid-19 in Madeira.

There are currently 87,025 men and 105,147 women infected with the new coronavirus. As for deaths, 1,590 men and 1,513 women were counted. 89,107 people are under surveillance, 956 fewer than yesterday. There are still 78,716 active cases, 1,378 more than the one seen yesterday.

The age group with the highest number of cases is between 20 and 29 years old, with 15,060 men and 16,949 women, in a total of 32,009 cases. The highest number of deaths is registered in the 80 years, with 937 men and 1,158 women, in a total of 2,095 deaths.
