Portugal remains in a state of contingency until October 14

THE This Thursday, the Government decided to extend the state of contingency in mainland Portugal. Today the Council of Ministers approved the resolution that extends the declaration of the contingency situation to the entire national territory, in the âscope gives pandemic of the illness COVID-19-19, until 23:59 on 14 October of 2020 “, can be read in the statement of the Council of Ministers.

The Government’s decision was announced by the Minister of State and Presidency, Mariana Vieira da Silva, stating that the contingency situation in the Continent will be reevaluated by the Executive in two weeks, then with a deeper analysis of the impact of the first weeks of school in schools.

The measures that were in force in the last 15 days “will remain”. It is recalled that the Contingency Situation now in force began at 00:00 on the 15th of September and ends at 23:59 on the 30th of September.

A Madeira is in a disaster situation, decreed by the Regional Government, until the end of September, the same level maintained by the Government of the Azores until 1 October on the five islands with air connection to the outside of the archipelago (Santa María, São Miguel, Terceira, Pico and Faial).

The remaining four islands of the Azores (Graciosa, São Jorge, Flores and Corvo) remain on alert until the same date.

These are the rules that must (continue) to be followed:

• Meetings limited to 10 people throughout the territory of mainland Portugal. Previously, the limit was 20 people;

Commerce

• Commercial establishments cannot open before 10 am (with exceptions);
• Hours of the establishments from 20 to 23 hours, by municipal decision;
• In areas restoration of shopping centers, maximum limit of four people per group;

Alcoholic drinks

• Prohibition of sale of alcoholic beverages in service stations and, after 8 pm, in all establishments (except meals);
• Prohibition of the consumption of alcoholic beverages on public roads;

Schools

• Adaptation of the functioning of schools to the new health reality;
• Contingency plans in all schools;
• Distribution of PPE;
• Reference of interim in case of suspicion, positive case or outbreaks;
• In restaurants, cafeterias and pastry shops 300 meters from schools, a maximum limit of four people per group;

Houses

• District rapid intervention brigades to contain and stabilize outbreaks in homes;

Sports events

• Sports venues remain without an audience;

Medids for areas metropolitan areas of Lisbon and Porto

• Mirror teams: billing scales between telecommuting and face-to-face work;
• Mandatory time delay: Differentiated arrival and departure times;
• Different times for breaks and meals;
• Motion reduction pendulous.
