Portugal registers more than 249 cases and three deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours – O Jornal Economico

Portugal has a total of 60,507 confirmed cases of Covid-19, plus 249 compared to the previous day, reveals the epidemiological bulletin of the General Health Directorate (DGS) published this Monday, September 7. The number of deaths from the new coronavirus in the country rose to 1,843, with three deaths in the last 24 hours.

DGS reveals that there are currently 21,930 cases registered in the North (133 more), 4,978 in the Center (17 more), 31,048 in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (85 more), 1,168 in the Algarve (three more), 224 cases in the Autonomous Region of Azores (seven more), 172 in the Autonomous Region of Madeira (two more) and 987 cases in Alentejo (two more).

Currently, there are 381 hospitalized patients, of which 49 are in Intensive Care Units (ICU) and 43,016 cases recovered in Portugal, 63 more than those registered yesterday. Regarding deaths, of the total of 1,843 deaths, 849 are registered in the North, 254 in the Center, 686 in Lisbon and the Tagus Valley, 17 in the Algarve, 15 in the Azores, 22 in the Alentejo. There is no death from Covid-19 in Madeira.

There are currently 27,255 men and 33,252 women infected with the new coronavirus. In terms of deaths, there are 925 men and 918 women. 34,336 people are under surveillance, 96 more than yesterday. There are still 15,648 active cases, 183 more than the one seen yesterday.

The age group with the highest number of cases is that of 40 to 49 years, with 4,483 men and 5,446 women, in a total of 9,929 cases. The highest number of deaths is recorded in 80 years, with 537 men and 691 women, in a total of 1,228 deaths.
