Portugal registers more than 1,090 cases and 13 deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours – O Jornal Economico

Portugal has a total of 86,664 confirmed cases of Covid-19, 1,090 more than the previous day, reveals the epidemiological bulletin of the General Directorate of Health (DGS) published this Sunday, October 11. The number of deaths from the new coronavirus in the country has risen to 2,080, with an additional 13 deaths in the last 24 hours.

The DGS reveals that there are currently 32,345 cases registered in the North (plus 625), 6,995 in the Center (plus 82), 43,141 in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (plus 329), 1,974 in the Algarve (plus 43), 296 cases in the Autonomous Region of Azores (two more), 284 in the Autonomous Region of Madeira (five more) and 1,630 cases in Alentejo (seven more).

Currently, there are 843 hospitalized, of which 124 are in Intensive Care Units (ICU) and 53,187 cases recovered in Portugal, 384 more than those registered yesterday. Regarding deaths, of the total of 2,080 deaths, 916 are registered in the North, 272 in the Center, 830 in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, 21 in the Algarve, 15 in the Azores, 26 in the Alentejo. There is no death from Covid-19 in Madeira.

There are currently 39,401 men and 47,263 women infected with the new coronavirus. In terms of deaths, 1,041 men and 1,039 women were counted. 48,413 people are under surveillance, 811 fewer than yesterday. There are still 31,397 active cases, 693 more than the one seen yesterday.

The age group with the highest number of cases is 30 to 39 years old, with 6,693 men and 7,475 women, in a total of 14,168 cases. The highest number of deaths is recorded over 80 years, with 614 men and 786 women, in a total of 1,400 deaths.
