Portugal registers 613 more cases and four deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours – O Jornal Economico

Portugal has a total of 64,596 confirmed cases of Covid-19, 613 more than the previous day, reveals the epidemiological bulletin of the General Directorate of Health (DGS) published this Monday, September 14. The number of deaths from the new coronavirus in the country rose to 1,871, with four deaths in the last 24 hours.

The DGS reveals that there are currently 23,411 cases registered in the North (more than 178), 5,279 in the Center (more than 51), 33,070 in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (more than 338), 1,244 in the Algarve (more than 10), 239 cases in the Autonomous Region of Azores (one more), 192 in the Autonomous Region of Madeira (eight more) and 1,161 cases in the Alentejo (another 27).

Currently there are 477 hospitalized, of which 61 are in Intensive Care Units (ICU) and 44,185 cases recovered in Portugal, 116 more than those registered yesterday. Regarding deaths, of the total of 1,871 deaths, 857 are registered in the North, 254 in the Center, 705 in Lisbon and the Tagus Valley, 18 in the Algarve, 15 in the Azores, 22 in the Alentejo. There is no death from Covid-19 in Madeira.

There are currently 29,167 men and 35,429 women infected with the new coronavirus. In terms of deaths, there are 942 men and 929 women. 36,758 people are under surveillance, 360 more than yesterday. There are still 18,540 active cases, 493 more than yesterday.

The age group with the highest number of cases is between 30 and 39 years, with 5,020 men and 5,573 women, in a total of 10,593 cases. The highest number of deaths is recorded in 80 years, with 546 men and 698 women, in a total of 1,244 deaths.
