Portugal registers 463 more cases and five deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours – O Jornal Economico

Portugal has a total of 69,663 confirmed cases of Covid-19, 463 more than the previous day, reveals the epidemiological bulletin of the General Directorate of Health (DGS) published this Tuesday, September 22. The number of deaths from the new coronavirus in the country rose to 1,925, with five deaths in the last 24 hours.

The DGS reveals that there are currently 25,099 cases registered in the North (more 191), 5,687 in the Center (more 36), 35,641 in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (more 198), 1,422 in the Algarve (more 21), 254 cases in the Autonomous Region of Azores (two more), 208 in the Autonomous Region of Madeira (three more) and 1,351 cases in Alentejo (another 12).

There are currently 546 hospitalized patients, of which 70 are in Intensive Care Units (ICU) and 45,974 cases recovered in Portugal, 238 more than those registered yesterday. Regarding deaths, of the total of 1,925 deaths, 877 are registered in the North, 257 in the Center, 734 in Lisbon and the Tagus Valley, 19 in the Algarve, 15 in the Azores, 23 in the Alentejo. There is no death from Covid-19 in Madeira.

There are currently 31,511 men and 38,152 women infected with the new coronavirus. In terms of deaths, there are 972 men and 953 women. 40,418 people are under surveillance, 47 less than yesterday. There are still 21,764 active cases, 220 more than the one seen yesterday.

The age group with the highest number of cases is 30 to 39 years old, with 5,450 men and 6,018 women, in a total of 11,468 cases. The highest number of deaths is recorded in 80 years, with 565 men and 718 women, out of a total of 1,283 deaths.
