Portugal registers 4,007 more cases and 39 deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours – O Jornal Economico

Portugal has a total of 141,279 confirmed cases of Covid-19, 4,007 more than the previous day, reveals the epidemiological bulletin of the General Directorate of Health (DGS) published this Saturday, October 31. The number of deaths from the new coronavirus in the country has risen to 2,507, with an additional 39 deaths in the last 24 hours.

The DGS reveals that there are currently 63,327 registered cases in the North (more than 1,900), 12,287 in the Center (more than 552), 59,343 in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (more than 1,406), 2,779 in the Algarve (more than 80), 369 cases in the Autonomous Region of Azores (plus three), 440 in the Autonomous Region of Madeira (plus five) and 2,734 cases in Alentejo (plus 61).

There are currently 1,972 hospitalized patients (more than 45), of which 286 are in Intensive Care Units (more than 11) and 80,280 cases recovered in Portugal, 2,831 more than those registered yesterday.

Regarding deaths, of the total of 2,507 deaths, 1,111 were registered in the North (plus 23), 314 in the Center (plus two), 992 in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (plus 12), 28 in the Algarve (plus one), 15 in the Azores and 47 in the Alentejo (one more). There is no death from Covid-19 in Madeira.

There are currently 64,111 men and 77,168 women infected with the new coronavirus. In terms of deaths, 1,287 men and 1,220 women were counted. 64,514 people are under surveillance, 791 fewer than yesterday. There are still 58,492 active cases, 1,137 more than yesterday.

The age group with the highest number of cases is between 20 and 29 years old, with 11,377 men and 12,589 women, in a total of 23,966 cases. The highest number of deaths is registered in the 80 years, with 752 men and 926 women, in a total of 1,678 deaths.
