Portugal exceeds 80 thousand cases of covid-19 in one day with 14 more deaths

More hospitalized, but less in intensive care

According to DGS, 258 more people recover and 50,712 are now those who have overcome the disease. In total, there are 27,568 positive cases of active covid-19 in the country, 155 more than on Monday.

There’s also 46,437 people under surveillance from the health authorities, 165 more than yesterday, for having been in contact or near people infected by covid-19.

Covid-19 infected more women, 43883, than men, 36429, but it kills practically without distinction of gender (in addition to race or creed): 1,018 deaths of men and 1,014 women since the beginning of the pandemic.

Confirmed cases are distributed in all age groups, with the highest number of infections between 20 and 59 years. The age group between 40 and 49 is the one with the highest value.
