Portugal exceeds 4,800 deaths from covid in one day with almost 5,000 cases

This Friday, Portugal registers 4,935 cases and 79 deaths from covid-19. In total, more than 312,000 people have already been infected with the new virus and more than 4,800 have died.

Today there are another 4935 infected by covid-19, according to the epidemiological bulletin of the General Health Directorate, which raises the total number of cases since March to 312 553. Of the total cases reported so far, 73,712 correspond to active patients, 164 less than yesterday. On the other hand, 5020 more patients recovered, with a total of 234,038 people recovered.

The North region has 2,577 more, which is equivalent to approximately 52% of all new cases, which brings the total number of infected to 164,463. It is followed by Lisbon and the Tagus Valley, with 1,508 new infections (and a total of 102,468). In the Central region there are 626 more cases (in 31,496), in Alentejo another 111 (in 6537) and in the Algarve another 73 (in 5529). The Azores archipelago has 26 new cases (in 1122) and Madeira has 14 more cases (938).

Same as yesterday, 79 more people died in Portugal, with 4803 deaths to regret. Forty-five of the new victims were registered in the north, 14 in the center, 15 in Lisbon and the Tagus valley, three in the Algarve, one in the Alentejo and one in the Azores. Regarding age, 59 people were over 80 years old (30 men and 29 women), 15 were between 70 and 79 years old (six men and nine women), four were between 60 and 69 years old (three men and one woman) and one The man was between 50 and 59 years old.

The number of patients admitted to the hospital has dropped to 3,295 (35 less than yesterday). There is one more patient in intensive care units, bringing the total number of hospitalized patients to 526.
